Driving Practical Test

You can book your practical driving test either online here or by calling 0300 200 1122 (you can also find your nearest driving test centre at the link). After you have booked you will be given a confirmation letter/email with your booking number.

When you book your test you will need your theory test certificate number, If you've lost or misplaced it, Don't panic Contact the DSA (0300 200 1122)

On the day of your test you will need to take with you the following:

Theory test pass Certificate
Provisional License (both paper and card)

The Test Consists Of:

Eye Sight Check
2 Vehicle Safety Questions
The driving ability part lasts about 40 minutes where you will complete 1 manoeuvre (using reverse gear) and the independent driving which will last about 10 minutes

Pass Mark

15 or less driving faults
No Serious or dangerous faults

If you pass your test the examiner will give you a Pass Certificate and ask if you want your full license to be sent to you automatically.

If you fail, feedback will be given and together we will work on these areas, ready for your next test date. You can take the practical test again after 10 working days.
